• Health Connect Data (with your permission): If you grant explicit permission, we may request access to specific Health Connect data such as exercise sessions, total calories burned, daily step count, and body metrics including height and weight.
• Body Metrics You Enter: If you manually add or edit your height or weight in the app, we store those entries in your account and, only if you enable sync, write them to Health Connect.

Food Snapper AI is a fitness and wellness application. Its features help users view exercise information, step counts, and body metrics alongside nutritional data in one place. We request Health Connect permissions only for this approved use case.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Nutritional & Fitness Analysis: Analyze meal photos to estimate calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fats, and combine them with activity data when available.
• Display Exercise & Step Data: Read selected Health Connect data such as exercise sessions, calories burned, and daily step count within the timeframe you choose.
• Body Metrics & Sync (Opt-In): Read height and weight to personalize your experience and, if enabled, sync edited values back to Health Connect.
• Feed Sharing (With Consent): Allow you to share meal photos and nutritional information on a public feed, together with gender and country, only when you explicitly consent.
• Service Improvement: Maintain and improve the service, including troubleshooting and analytics, using only the minimum data required.

4. Health Connect Data Handling

• Data Scope Limitation: We request only permissions required for our features, including READ_EXERCISE, READ_TOTAL_CALORIES_BURNED, READ_STEPS, READ_HEIGHT, READ_WEIGHT, WRITE_HEIGHT, and WRITE_WEIGHT.
• Write Behavior (Explicit Opt-In): We write only height and weight entries, and only when you enable sync and take an action that creates or edits those entries in the app.
• Minimal Data Access: We read only what is needed to display your exercise duration, calories burned, step count, height, and weight for the selected period.
• No Unauthorized Sharing or Selling: We never sell or share Health Connect data with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties without explicit consent and legal basis.
• User Control & Consent: You control Health Connect permissions, including separate read and write permissions for height and weight, in your device settings.
• Data Storage: In most cases, Health Connect data is accessed and displayed on-device. If any such data is stored on our servers, it is protected by encryption and follows the same retention and deletion policies as other personal data.
• Compliance with Health Regulations: We comply with Google Health Connect policies and applicable local laws. We do not use Health Connect data for medical diagnosis.
• Android Permission Names: android.permission.health.READ_WEIGHT, android.permission.health.READ_HEIGHT, android.permission.health.WRITE_WEIGHT, and android.permission.health.WRITE_HEIGHT.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal data while your account is active. If you delete your account, associated app data, including stored photos, is removed unless retention is required by law. Any Health Connect data stored on our servers is also deleted or anonymized on account deletion.

If you withdraw consent for feed sharing, the related photos and nutrition information are removed from the public feed as soon as technically feasible. Data already written to Health Connect remains in your device's Health Connect store and can be managed there directly.

6. Security Measures

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. While we work to protect personal data, no transmission or storage method can be guaranteed as completely secure.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Changes will be posted in the app or on our website where applicable. Continued use of Food Snapper AI after an update means you accept the revised policy.

3. User Accounts

• Registration: You may need to create an account to access all features and must provide accurate, up-to-date information.
• Responsibility: You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activities that occur under your account.
• All Ages: The service is available to users of all ages, but minors should use it under the supervision of a parent or guardian where required by local regulations.

4. Disclaimer (Not Medical Advice)

All nutritional and fitness information is provided for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for health-related concerns.

5. Prohibited Conduct

• Uploading content that is illegal or infringes on third-party rights.
• Reverse-engineering or attempting to gain unauthorized access to the service.
• Using the service in a way that disrupts its functioning or security.
• Collecting or using Health Connect data for purposes not explicitly authorized by the user and described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Feed Sharing Feature

• Voluntary Participation: Sharing food photos, calorie data, macronutrient data, gender, and country with other users is optional and requires explicit consent.
• Consent & Withdrawal: Feed sharing can be enabled or disabled at any time in account settings, and withdrawn content is removed promptly.
• Shared Information: Only the information you consent to share appears on the feed. Health Connect data is not shared unless separately authorized.
• User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the content you share and must ensure it does not violate third-party rights or these terms.
• Data Removal: Cached or archived copies may persist temporarily until fully purged.

7. Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to the service at any time for any reason, including violation of these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately.

8. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, Food Snapper AI.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes may be communicated inside the service or by email. Continued use after those changes means you accept the updated terms.
